Each spring the board members and representative(s) from Ministry of Transportation (MTO) meet in late April/early May and conduct a tour of all the roads in the Burwash-Hendrie Local Roads Board making note of road conditions and developing a plan for maintenance and capital projects for the year and future years.
work program budget 2025-26
The board and MTO then sit down and develop a budget based on the budgets and expenses over the past years and the projected current costs of regular maintenance.
Proposed work program and status
They use the budget and the road notes to develop the current years work program. The work program represents the plan for the current year and acts as a guide for the Ministry of Transportation representatives to follow. The Ministry is responsible for seeing to the completion of as much of the plan as possible depending on time, environmental conditions and money constraints.
